A Day in the Life at PP56

The days are long. We wake up at 5:30am every morning for a quick breakfast before heading over to the lab to grab equipment needed for the day. Once all the cars have been loaded the group splits into two teams. One heads to Vleesbaai the other to PP56. On average it takes 15-20 minutes to drive to the coast. Once arrived at the top of the cliffs we then load packs with gear and climb down the steep embankment towards the designated site. The climb takes an additional 15-20 minutes. Once on-site team members go to their designated sections or totaling stations. And so the day starts. It is not until 5pm that we leave the bluff and climb back up to the cars. By 6 pm we have arrived back at the house for a quick shower before dinner at 7pm. After dinner, the entire team congregates to do an hour to 2 hours of labeling in preparation for the following day.
